Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
Welcome to Noêma.
These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the Noêma website and to bookings for private dining, home catering, corporate catering, weekly meal prep and other food-related services provided by Noêma.
By submitting a booking request, accepting a quotation, paying a booking deposit or otherwise confirming a service with Noêma, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions, together with any individual booking confirmation, quotation or written agreement provided for your specific service.
Where individual terms have been agreed in writing for a particular booking, those terms will take precedence over these general Terms & Conditions.
1. About Noêma
Noêma is operated by Panagiotis Lenakis.
Noêma provides private chef services, private dining, home catering, corporate catering, event catering, weekly meal preparation and related food services.
The exact services available, service location, menu, guest capacity, pricing and requirements may vary depending on the booking.
2. Booking & Confirmation
A booking is not considered confirmed until Noêma has accepted the booking and the required booking deposit or other agreed payment has been received, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
A booking deposit secures the agreed date and allows Noêma to begin planning, staffing, supplier coordination and other preparations required for the service.
Submitting an enquiry or receiving a quotation does not by itself guarantee availability or reserve a date.
For larger events, corporate catering, weddings and other bookings requiring significant advance planning, Noêma may provide an individual booking confirmation or agreement setting out specific:
guest numbers
menu and service details
timings
staffing
equipment requirements
payment schedule
cancellation terms
venue or kitchen arrangements
travel or other additional costs
The booking is considered confirmed according to the terms stated in that individual booking confirmation.
3. Deposits & Payments
A booking deposit is required to secure the date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The deposit amount and payment schedule depend on the type, size and complexity of the booking.
3.1 Private Dinners & Home Catering
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
A 30% booking deposit is required to secure the booking.
The remaining 70% balance will be invoiced 7 days before the service date.
Final guest numbers and significant menu or service changes should be confirmed before the final invoice is issued.
Additional guests, services, beverages, equipment, travel or other agreed additions may be invoiced separately.
3.2 Corporate Catering & Larger Events
For corporate catering, weddings and larger private or public events, the payment schedule may differ depending on the size, complexity and advance planning required.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
A 30% booking deposit is required to secure the event date.
A further 40% payment is due 30 days before the event.
The remaining 30% balance is due 7 days before the event.
For larger or more complex events, Noêma may agree a different deposit or payment schedule. Any such terms will be stated in the individual booking confirmation or agreement and will take precedence over the general payment schedule above.
All invoices are payable by the due date stated on the invoice.
Noêma reserves the right to postpone, suspend or decline to provide services where required payments have not been received by the agreed deadline.
Late payments may be subject to applicable interest and collection costs in accordance with Norwegian law.
4. Pricing, Guest Numbers & Additional Costs
Prices are based on the information available at the time of quotation, including the expected number of guests, menu, service requirements, location and agreed scope of work.
For larger events, the quotation may be based on a minimum guest count or minimum event value.
A reduction in guest numbers does not automatically result in a corresponding reduction in the total booking price, particularly where the date, staff, kitchen, equipment, suppliers or other resources have already been committed.
Noêma will make reasonable efforts to adjust the service to the final confirmed guest count where possible.
Any additional services or changes requested after confirmation may result in additional charges.
These may include, but are not limited to:
additional guests
additional food or menu items
additional service hours
additional staff
beverages
equipment
kitchen or venue requirements
transportation or travel
accommodation
special dietary requirements requiring additional preparation
last-minute changes or additions
Any significant change to the agreed scope of the event may require a revised quotation.
5. Changes to Bookings
Clients may request changes to guest numbers, menu, timings or other booking details.
Noêma will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requested changes, subject to availability and the stage of preparation.
For larger events, final guest numbers and key event details must be confirmed by the deadline communicated in the booking confirmation.
Once suppliers, staff, equipment, ingredients or other resources have been committed, changes may not be possible or may result in additional charges.
A reduction in guest numbers is considered a change to the booking and does not automatically entitle the client to a refund of deposits or payments already made.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
Because a booking reserves a specific date and may require Noêma to commit staff, suppliers, kitchen facilities, equipment, planning time and other resources, cancellation terms depend on the type of service.
6.1 Private Dinners & Home Catering
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Cancellations made 14 or more days before the service date are eligible for a full refund of the booking deposit.
Cancellations made 7–13 days before the service date will result in a 50% refund of the booking deposit.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the service date are non-refundable.
Any non-refundable costs already incurred specifically for the booking may be deducted from any amount otherwise refundable.
6.2 Corporate Catering & Larger Events
For corporate catering, weddings and larger events:
Cancellations made 60 or more days before the event are eligible for a full refund of the booking deposit, less any non-refundable costs already incurred specifically for the event.
Cancellations made 30–59 days before the event are eligible for a 40% refund of the booking deposit, less any non-refundable costs already incurred.
Cancellations made 14–29 days before the event result in the booking deposit being non-refundable.
Cancellations made less than 14 days before the event may result in additional cancellation charges where Noêma has already incurred or committed to costs, staff, suppliers, facilities, equipment or other resources for the event.
Non-refundable costs may include, but are not limited to:
kitchen or venue hire
staff or contractor commitments
accommodation
transportation
equipment
suppliers
beverages
ingredients
external services
other third-party costs
Where such costs have already been incurred or committed, they remain payable regardless of the cancellation date.
For particularly large or complex events, the individual booking agreement may contain different cancellation terms.
7. Cancellation by Noêma
Noêma reserves the right to cancel or decline a booking where circumstances make it impossible or unreasonable to provide the agreed service, including serious illness, unsafe working conditions, venue restrictions, non-payment, abusive behaviour or circumstances beyond Noêma's reasonable control.
Where Noêma cancels a confirmed booking for reasons within Noêma's control and the service cannot reasonably be rescheduled, amounts paid for services that have not been provided will be refunded as required by applicable law and the agreed booking terms.
Noêma will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from a cancellation to the extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Force Majeure
Noêma will not be considered in breach of its obligations where performance is prevented or materially affected by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
This may include, for example:
serious illness
accidents
severe weather
natural disasters
government restrictions
venue closure
transport disruption
supplier failure
fire
other events that could not reasonably have been prevented or anticipated
Where reasonably possible, Noêma will work with the client to reschedule the service.
If rescheduling is not possible, any refund will be assessed based on the payments received and costs or commitments already incurred for the booking, subject to applicable law and any individual booking agreement.
9. Allergies, Intolerances & Dietary Requirements
Clients must inform Noêma of all known allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements before the booking is confirmed or, at the latest, by the deadline communicated by Noêma.
For larger events, dietary requirements must be provided by the final guest-confirmation deadline.
Noêma takes reasonable precautions when preparing food for guests with declared dietary requirements. However, because food may be prepared in kitchens where allergens are present, Noêma cannot guarantee an entirely allergen-free environment.
Noêma reserves the right to decline a dietary request where it cannot reasonably be prepared safely.
The client is responsible for ensuring that guests' dietary information is communicated accurately to Noêma.
10. Client & Venue Responsibilities
The client is responsible for providing accurate information necessary for Noêma to deliver the service.
Depending on the booking, this may include:
accurate guest numbers
correct event timings
venue access information
parking and loading information
kitchen specifications
access to electricity, running water and suitable working areas
venue rules and restrictions
contact details for the responsible person on site
information about any restrictions relating to food preparation, service or alcohol
Where Noêma is working in a private home or venue, the client must provide safe and reasonable access to the agreed working areas.
The client is responsible for obtaining any venue permissions or approvals required for the service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
11. Equipment & Kitchen
Where the agreed service requires the use of a kitchen or other facilities provided by the client or venue, those facilities must be reasonably suitable for the agreed service.
Unless otherwise agreed, the client or venue is responsible for ensuring access to:
a functioning kitchen where required
running water
electricity
suitable preparation surfaces
reasonable access for loading and unloading
sufficient space for the agreed service
Noêma may bring its own cooking or serving equipment where required and agreed.
Noêma will take reasonable care of client or venue property used during the service.
At the end of a private chef or home catering service, Noêma will leave the working areas in a reasonably clean and orderly condition, subject to the scope of the service.
12. Travel, Delivery & Service Area
Noêma's availability depends on the location and nature of the booking.
Travel within the agreed service area may be included in the quoted price where stated.
Bookings outside the standard service area may be accepted subject to availability and may incur additional charges for travel, transportation, accommodation or other logistics.
Any additional travel-related costs will be communicated and agreed as part of the quotation or booking confirmation.
For catering deliveries, delivery fees may apply depending on location, distance, timing and delivery requirements.
13. Alcohol & Beverages
Where beverages are included in a catering package, the specific products, quantities and service arrangements will be stated in the quotation or booking confirmation.
The client is responsible for providing accurate information regarding any venue restrictions or requirements relating to alcohol service.
Where the supply or service of alcoholic beverages requires specific licensing, permissions or arrangements, the parties will agree the applicable responsibility before the event.
14. Content, Photography & Intellectual Property
All original content published by Noêma, including recipes, written guides, photographs, videos, graphics, website content and other materials, remains the intellectual property of Noêma or the relevant rights holder unless otherwise stated.
Clients may use recipes or guides provided by Noêma for personal, non-commercial use.
Content may not be reproduced, republished, sold, distributed or commercially exploited without prior written permission.
Clients may share Noêma content on social media provided that appropriate credit is given and the original content is not altered in a misleading way.
15. Photography & Event Media
Noêma may photograph or record food, table settings, event details or the service for portfolio, marketing and social media purposes where appropriate.
Noêma will not intentionally publish identifiable images of private individuals without an appropriate legal basis or permission where required.
Clients may inform Noêma in advance if they do not wish event-related images to be used for promotional purposes.
16. Liability
Noêma will provide its services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited under Norwegian law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Noêma will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses that are not a direct and foreseeable result of a breach of the agreed service.
Noêma is not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, inaccurate information supplied by the client, venue restrictions, third-party suppliers or other circumstances for which Noêma is not responsible.
Noêma reserves the right to refuse or stop providing a service where there is a serious safety concern, abusive or threatening behaviour, unsafe working conditions or a material breach of these Terms & Conditions.
17. Complaints & Service Issues
If a client believes that the agreed service has not been delivered as expected, the client should contact Noêma as soon as reasonably possible.
For event services, any issues that can reasonably be addressed during the event should be brought to the attention of the Noêma representative as soon as possible so that an appropriate solution can be considered.
Complaints should be submitted in writing with sufficient information to allow Noêma to investigate the matter.
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory rights the client may have under applicable Norwegian law.
18. Corporate Clients & Business Bookings
Where the client is acting on behalf of a company, organisation or other business, the booking may be treated as a business-to-business agreement.
Corporate bookings may be subject to individual quotations, purchase orders, invoicing requirements and event-specific terms.
Where a corporate client provides its own procurement or contractual terms, those terms do not automatically apply unless expressly accepted by Noêma in writing.
19. Privacy & Personal Information
Noêma may collect and process personal information necessary to respond to enquiries, manage bookings, provide services, issue invoices and communicate with clients.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
Further information about how personal information is collected, used and stored is provided in Noêma's Privacy Policy.
20. Changes to These Terms
Noêma may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Updated terms will be published on this website and will apply to bookings made after the updated terms become effective.
A change to these Terms & Conditions will not retrospectively alter the terms of a booking that has already been confirmed, unless otherwise permitted by law or expressly agreed with the client.
21. Individual Booking Terms
For corporate catering, weddings, larger events and bookings involving significant advance planning, Noêma may provide individual booking terms.
These may specify:
deposit amount
payment schedule
final guest-count deadline
cancellation charges
minimum event value
staffing
menu
beverages
equipment
travel and accommodation
venue or kitchen requirements
other event-specific conditions
Where individual terms have been agreed in writing, they form part of the booking agreement and take precedence over these general Terms & Conditions to the extent of any inconsistency.
22. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Norwegian law.
Noêma and the client should first attempt to resolve any dispute directly and in good faith.
Where the client is a consumer, mandatory consumer protection and dispute-resolution rights under Norwegian law remain unaffected.
Where a dispute cannot be resolved directly, the parties may use the applicable Norwegian consumer dispute-resolution mechanisms where available.
For business-to-business agreements, disputes will be handled in accordance with the applicable agreement and Norwegian law.
